Is anyone aware of a labor distribution report in QB Online?  With each pay period end, I would like to have a report that lists each employee and how the pay dollars were posted to the general ledger by account.  This will help me monitor labor allocations and make necessary reclasses.

Thank you for providing detailed information about the report you need, Cindy. While QuickBooks Online (QBO) doesn’t have a specific Labor Distribution report, we can create a Journal report and customize it to get the information you need. Let me help you with that customization.

Let's start by going to the reports section in your QuickBooks account.

Here's how:

  1. On the left panel, click Reports.
  2. Enter Journal on the search bar field.
  3. Click Switch to classic view.
  4. Click the Customize button to add the necessary information.
  5. Edit the Report period.
  6. In the Filter section, click the dropdown button on Transaction Type.
  7. Select Payroll Check.
  8. Select all the employees in the Name section.
  9. Click Run report.

Furthermore, you can refer to this article about customizing your reports in QBO.

Also, you can Explore QuickBooks Payroll to help you streamline your payroll process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. From setting up employee information to preparing tax forms, our experts cover everything you need to know to optimize your payroll management.

Additionally, you can export your reports if you want to save a copy for future reference.

By following these steps, you can effectively monitor labor allocations and make any necessary reclassifications. Please reply if you need more help running a report. Your success with QuickBooks is essential to us. I'm one step away in helping you.
