Location Names
If I change a location name, what does it affect? Does it change for past transactions?

Let me shed some light on what would happen if you changed the location name in QuickBooks. Changing your location name in QuickBooks can affect all past, present, and future transactions. Transaction data tracked with the location will also be updated if we run a financial report.
Your data will still be complete with the new location name after changing it. Here are the steps on how you change your location in QuickBooks:
- Go to the Gear icon, then choose Account and Settings.
- Look for the Categories, and click the Edit icon.
- Switch on the Track locations.
- Choose from the Location Label dropdown the location you need.
- Hit Save and Done.
