Question

Love the new look with all of the fees broken down. However, it would be nice to charge the customers those fees when they pay and not us. When is that coming?

I appreciate you taking the time to reach out to the Community, DJNewman10.

Please know that as of now, QuickBooks Online does not come with a feature that would automatically allow you to charge your customers a processing fee when they make a transaction using a credit card. However, our team is constantly working on improving QuickBooks software, so it's a great idea to consider suggesting this feature for a future update.

To share your feedback on this feature with our Product Development team, you can take the following steps:

  1. Click the Gear icon, and select Feedback under PROFILE.
  2. Enter your comments and product suggestions.
  3. Once done, click Next to submit.

You can also keep track of feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

Alternatively, if you prefer to have your customers pay the fee on your behalf, you have the option to create the fee as a service item and add it to your invoices. You can do this by following these steps:

  1. Go to Settings and choose Products & services.
  2. Select New, then click Service.
  3. In the Name field, enter a name for the service. Then, select Save and close.
