Question

Many customers would like to have new invoices sent as CC to additional email addresses. Where in QBO is this added? QB Deskop Customer record includes a CC field.

Recurring Transactions does have a CC field, and this works for monthly recuring invoices, but it does not work for a newly created invoice.

or click on the cc/bc link just below, see my attachment

Is there a way to save the cc: email addresses in the customer setup vs entering them each time you send an invoice?

Welcome to the Community, @TonyM.

You'll be happy to know that you can add a Carbon Copy (CC) email address in sending an invoice. And I'd be glad to walk you through the steps.

  1. Click the Gear icon, then select Account and Settings.
  2. From the left menu, click Sales.
  3. In the Messages section, you can enter the email address under Copy (Cc) new invoices to address.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Hit Done.

From there, you also have the option to enter a BCC to your email.

Fill me in if you have any other questions managing your invoice. I'll be around if you need any help.

sad to see this is still an open feature request. Why hasn't this basic functionality been prioritized?

I upgraded (if you can call it an upgrade) from QB Desktop to QBO this week, but I wish I had seen this conversation thread prior to the upgrade. I can't believe a basic function like the ability to add cc: email addresses to the customer profile isn't available with QBO. Or that adding email addresses to the cc: field when sending invoices isn't saved in QBO so we don't have to re-enter email addresses in the cc: field each time we send invoices to clients. The engineers aren't business owners and accountants trying to work efficiently in QBO. I really find no excuse for QuickBooks to eliminate functionality in QBO that was available in the Desktop version. They have done a great disservice to their clients. I've provided comments through the Feedback function, but since this thread began in March 2019 (really QuickBooks - FOUR years ago), I can only conclude that the feedback is falling on deaf ears. This isn't a pie-in-the-sky function that users are requesting. This is a very real need.

Agree! If it's available as a feature in the desktop version, it should be easy to add as a feature in the online version. What was supposed to be an easier and more convenient way to use Quickbooks has turned into a time suck. Really bad especially since this has been requested for over 4 years!

In QuickBooks Desktop, the fields for CC and BCC for emails were set per customer. All of my customers want invoices copied to a primary contact and secondary contact and accounting. Having to manually add these every time I send an invoice is a real lose of functionality from the Desktop version.
