I'm here to ensure that your accountant can make journal entries without unnecessary barriers, Keith.

You will be prompted to enter a password when attempting to modify a closed book. Once a book is closed, any transactions that occurred before that date will require a password for access.

I recommend verifying the closing date in your Account and Settings to see if it has changed. Here's how:

1. Go to the Gear icon and click Account and Settings
2. Choose the Advanced tab.
3. Click Edit ✎ in the Accounting section.
4. In the Close the Books menu, check if the closing date has changed. If yes, please change it to a future date that you want.
5. Save your changes, then click Done at the lower right of your screen.
