My bank accounts disconnect daily from Quickbooks. Is it possible the 2-way API has a timeout of the session IDs from Quickbooks' side and/or my bank side?

I know that it can be concerning to experience the frequent disconnection of your bank accounts from QuickBooks Online (QBO). 

 

Here are some of the possible reasons why your bank accounts disconnect daily from QuickBooks Online:

  • The bank is performing system maintenance.
  • There are notifications on your bank's website that need your attention.

 

Before we proceed, I'd like to know your bank's name. This way, I can check if there's an ongoing investigation related to it.

 

Let me share some troubleshooting steps you can follow to help with your concern.

 

First, I suggest using the bank website's URL in connecting to QuickBooks.

 

Here's how:

  1. Go to Banking from the left menu. 
  2. Select Add account.
  3. On your bank website's screen, copy the URL and then paste it into the Enter your bank name or URL search box.
  4. Choose the bank emblem. 
  5. Enter your User ID and Password for the financial institution's website.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Complete the extra security verification and select Connect.
  8. Select the Account type drop-down menu for your bank account.
  9. Click Connect.

 

You can then manually update your bank account to refresh the connection in QBO.

 

I also recommend signing in to your bank's website. From there, you can check your account for any alerts and notifications. Once done, manually update your account in QBO again.
