My husband accidentally changed a customers name on a payment posted 2 years ago. how do we change it back to the correct customer?

2 customer payments were changed in error to another customer, how do we correct this? the payments posted 2 years ago to an old account?

I'm here to help you with changing the customer name for an invoice in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

You can easily modify the invoice with the incorrect customer name by opening it and making the necessary changes. To do this, here's how:

 

  1. In the left menu, click Sales.
  2. Go to the Customers tab.
  3. Locate and click the customer's name to open the Transaction List.
  4. Locate the payment and select it to open.
  5. Rename the customer.
  6. Click Yes to confirm.

 

That's it! You have successfully corrected the payment with the correct customer name.
