Question

My invoice says the amount was deposited, but the amount is not showing in my QuickBooks checking account. Where did the money go?

Quickbooks checking reads $0. Invoice reads "deposited". When I called QB before, Quickbooks checking account was the account on file to deposit the funds. But I don't see that anywhere.

We're dedicated to ensuring that the invoice payment is properly deposited to your QuickBooks Checking account, Beth.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), the Deposited status shown in the invoice means the payment has been recorded in QuickBooks. However, this doesn't indicate that the funds have reached your bank account yet.

Initially, we process your first set of payments within five business days as we complete your QuickBooks Payments account setup. Rest assured, we'll deposit them more quickly once done. Deposit times can also vary depending on the product and payment type (Standard or Instant deposits).

To check the status of your deposit:

  1. Sign in to the Merchant Service Center.
  2. Click Activities & Reports, then Deposits.
  3. Locate the deposit. Successful ones are labeled as Funded in the Status column.

To learn more about deposit speeds in QuickBooks Payments, please refer to this article: Find out when QuickBooks Payments deposits customer payments.

You'll also want to verify that your QuickBooks Checking account is set up correctly as the deposit account for QuickBooks Payments.

If everything else seems in order and the payment surpasses the expected timeframe, I recommend contacting our customer support team. They can provide clarity on the payment status and address any compliance or security checks causing delays.

Additionally, you can use your QuickBooks debit card for cash withdrawals and purchases.

Any additional questions about receiving payments in QuickBooks Checking are greatly valued in the Community. Just let us know in the comments below, and we'll be quick to respond. Stay safe.
