Question

Need help adding a discount to an estimate and invoice. The new update really messed me up and changed things. Updates make it harder to get things done very aggregating.

Thanks for dropping by the Community forum and posting your concern about adding discounts to estimates and invoices in the new layout. I have some guidelines to help you add discounts to these transactions successfully.

Before anything else, you mentioned that the new update has messed up and changed things for you. I'd appreciate it if you could provide me with more details. What are the visible changes you've noticed? You can attach a screenshot so I can check it further for you. It will also help me find the best solution to help sort things out for you.

On the other hand, with the new version of estimates and invoices, you can turn the discount setting on or off directly on your estimate or invoice. Here are the steps, along with some screenshots for better reference:

  1. Go to + New.
  2. Select Invoice or Estimate.

  3. Choose ⚙ Manage to add a discount to the invoice or estimate.

  4. Select the Discounts and Fees ▼ dropdown.
  5. Turn on the Discount setting to add the discount field to your invoice or estimate.

  6. Fill out your invoice or estimate.
  7. Choose for a flat discount or % for a percentage discount.

  8. Click Save.
