Question

None of my contractors have received their 1099s. Anyone else have this problem? QB says mailed on 1/30.

Welcome to the Community, treasurer-blackb.

To check into the shipment statuses of each of your mailed 1099s, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up the account in a secure environment and discuss your shipments with you.

They can be reached while you're signed in.

Here's how:

  1. Use the Help (?) icon.

  2. Click Contact Us.

  3. Enter a description of your situation in the What can we help you with? field, then hit Let's talk.

  4. Select Start messaging or Get a call.

Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.

While your employees are waiting for their mail to arrive, they can access their 1099s online in QuickBooks Workforce.

I've also included a detailed resource about working with payroll which may come in handy moving forward: Year-end checklist for Payroll

Please don't hesitate to send a reply if there's any questions. Have a lovely Tuesday!

Yes, many other posters here have reported that, while QuickBooks indicates that the 1099's were mailed shortly after they were submitted, they were in fact not mailed and it appears that they still haven't been mailed, nearly two weeks after the deadline. So, basically, the status in QuickBooks is a worthless lie.

Instead of admitting Intuit's error, reps here have tried all sort of misdirection. Maybe you typed all the vendor addresses wrong, for example. Or maybe the IRS is at fault for not accepting your 1099's. Or they claim that the forms were mailed out - and they haven't been. Or claim that they - of course - had to wait until after the deadline 1/31 to start mailing them (which make less than no sense), or that it takes UPS 7 - 9 days to deliver envelopes (it does not).

In any case, recently reps started admitting there actually is an issue, and that it appears 'some' 1099's didn't go out on time (or at all?), and also starting blaming a contractor for the issue.

Do you think Intuit is going to pay the late penalties for all of these late forms?
