Welcome to the Community, director-prattmu.

I'm here to share information and help you manage the Out of Scope Agency Payable account in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Please know that this account is a default account in QuickBooks. It is for sales tax recording. Any transaction selected as taxable, but has a $0.00 tax amount will be posted to the Out of Scope Agency Payable Liability account.

To fix this, you can open those transactions and utilize the See the Math option to see how your sales tax is calculated. This way, you can mark those items as non-taxable. Here's how:

  1. Go to Sales and choose All Sales.
  2. From there, open a transaction.
  3. Scroll down and click See the Math.
  4. On the How your sales tax is calculated page, ensure that your customer and items are non-taxable by clicking Edit.
  5. Select Edit sales tax and tick the Nontaxable option.
  6. Click Done and Close to save the changes.
