Thanks for bringing this to my attention, @o-dominguez-prof. I'll be here to provide some information about the amounts shown for cash and accrual in the Profit and Loss report.

The data pulled out by the P&L report depends on the information entered in QuickBooks. The amount displayed on both cash and accrual methods may be similar or differ depending on some circumstances. If the selected period has all paid transactions, the amounts shown on both options will be the same as well. However, if the period you choose has unpaid transactions, the amounts shown in both methods will differ. With this, you'll want to check the status of the data on the selected period is accurate and correct. Also, you'll have to ensure that you click the Run Report button every time you select a period or switch from different accounting methods. You may refer to the image below:

On the other hand, if this is not the case and there are unpaid transactions on that certain period but showing similar amounts, I recommend performing some troubleshooting steps to see if the issue is within your browser. In most cases, cache-induced browsers affect the program's performance. You can start by accessing your account through an incognito or private browser. Please refer to the shortcut keys for easier access:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Then, if it works, you can clear your browser's cache to remove unnecessary cache and start with a clean slate. Also, you can use other supported browsers to access your QuickBooks account.

Moreover, you may refer to these articles to learn a bunch of ways to run and customize your reports:

Also, if you want to export your report to Microsoft Excel in the future, here's a detailed guide you can check: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.

If there's anything more that I can help you with managing your Profit and Loss report in QBO, please feel free to leave a comment below or post your query again. Have a great day!
