Payment Processing Fees not flowing through to Chart of Accounts, P&L, etc.

The steps you've shared are essential procedures to designate your instant deposit processing fees to an expense account in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Josh. I can help ensure that your data will show up accordingly on your reports so you can track and manage them.
 
When you process an instant deposit, the entire amount is deposited into your account. The processing fees are deducted from your bank account that you use for standard payment processing at a later time. As a result, you will see two separate transactions for the deposit and the fees.

Furthermore, once you've selected an expense account to assign the fees, it will be categorized automatically to that account (QuickBooks Payments Fees). The system handles this transaction by downloading the fees to the bank account where the charge came from. Then, the system assigns it to the expense account you've chosen when setting where QuickBooks records the Processing Fees.

Since there's no data reflecting on the expense account, you don't have an existing fee categorized to the account yet. We can also check if this account is inactive. If so, it would also be the cause of why the transactions are not visible. Please follow the steps below to check.

1. Go back to the Settings menu and select Chart of accounts.
2. Click the mini Gear icon from the Chart of accounts page. Then, tick the Box icon beside Include inactive.
   
3. Locate or enter the account's name on the Filter by name or number search bar.
4. If there's a Make active option from the Action column. It means the account is inactive.
5. Tap the Make active option to reactivate the account.

However, if the account is active, let's perform some browser troubleshooting to narrow down the result. Let's start by accessing your account using a private browser. 

Here are the keyboard shortcut keys to open the private windows:

• Safari: Command + Option + P
• Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
• Firefox or Internet Explorer: Ctrl + Shift + P

If your data is visible on the expense account while using a private session, it confirms an issue with your regular browser. Let's fix it by clearing your cache and cookies.

On the other hand, your mileage entries in QBO will not show up on your Profit and Loss (P&L) or Expense reports. The feature to enter mileage data in the system is for recording purposes only and does not affect your P&L and expense-related inputs.
