Phantom numbers in budget

Hello,

I have inputted the budget for our upcoming FY. However, if I look at a P&L for next FY, the total numbers are different than the individual budgets put together.

If there is no class filter, there are extra numbers in the budget. If I select all classes on the class filter, the numbers are correct. This makes me assume there is an unclassified number. However, each class in the budgeting tool is correct, so there is no where I can change an unclassified number.

I am grateful for any ideas on how to solve this.

Thanks! Support was not able to provide much information.

It looks like deleting the budget and starting over is the only choice.

I did that and the phantom # were gone.

Welcome to the Community, Accountant2025.

Since phantom numbers are being displayed on your budget, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research with you, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.

They can be reached while you're signed in.

Here's how:

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to Help, then QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact Us.
  3. Enter a question, keyword, or topic you need help with.
  4. If you can't find answers to your questions, select Contact Us to be connected to an expert for help. You'll need to search for an article before the Contact Us option will display.

Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.

Please don't hesitate to send a reply if there's any additional questions, Have a wonderful Monday!
