"Profit and Loss by Tag Group" report - can't adjust saved report

Using QB Online with some tagged transactions (ungrouped tags), running "Profit and Loss by Tag Group" report, I use Customize=>Filter to select a specific tag or "Not Specified" to show untagged transactions, and I can display columns by months or quarters (among other options).

 

Some problems occur after I save the customization. When I view the saved report, it displays correctly at first, but it loses the tag-related filtering if I adjust anything such as changing the dates or changing monthly report to quarterly. Also, under Customize=>Filter there's no option to filter by tags.

 

One more thing: By default, the "Profit and Loss by Tag Group" report includes one column for each of my tags. But how can I include a separate column for untagged transactions?

Saving a customized report is a convenient feature in QuickBooks Online that can save you time, BTG5. This allows you to reuse your tailored reports without having to recreate them from scratch each time.

 

I also applied the same filters to my Profit and Loss by Tag Group report before saving it. When I reopened the report and made some changes, the tag-related filters I had previously set remained intact.

 

To determine if browser or technical issues are causing the tag-related filters to disappear, I'd recommend following these steps:

 

  1. Use a private/incognito browsing session or restart your browser.
  2. Clear your browser's cache.
  3. Add Intuit as a trusted site.

 

After that, log back in and check if you're able to keep the filters after making changes to the saved customized report.

 

With regard to adding filters by tags, this is only available if it's a standard report. This option will no longer be available if you've opened a saved customized report. You can create and save a new one if you need to add a filter by tag.

 

Also, we're unable to add more columns or add another one for untagged transactions. For now, these are the only columns that can be added to the Profit and Loss by Tag Group report:

 

  • Previous period (PP)
  • $ change % change
  • Previous year (PY)
  • $ change % change
  • Year-to-date (YTD)
  • % of YTD
  • Previous year-to-date (PY YTD)
  •  % of Row
  •  % of Column
  •  % of Income
  •  % of Expense
