Question

Purchase Order Customization

I've asked this question many times in the past (recently October 2024). Has QBO introduced Purchase Order customization yet? We create a PO in QBO, generate a PDF and use a custom Outlook template to re-enter all the details and send the PO.

It would be nice to create a nicely formatted PO in QBO and press Send. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you for your continued follow-ups, GBE. We appreciate your feedback on personalizing purchase orders and are committed to addressing your needs with care and attention.

While our platform offers customization options for sales transactions such as invoices, estimates, and sales receipts, purchase order formats remain standardized with predefined templates. Nevertheless, we're committed to continuously enhancing our product and welcome your feedback to help us refine our customization features.

I'll show you how you can send one:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Under the Profile column, choose Feedback.
  3. Enter your feedback suggestion.
  4. Click the Next button.

Stay informed about the latest product developments by regularly checking Intuit's Product Updates webpage.

For now, you can only customize purchase orders by adding Custom fields and enabling Custom transaction numbers. Note that we can only create up to 3 custom fields in QuickBooks Online Plus and Essentials. Refer to the screenshot below on how to turn on the Custom transaction numbers.
