Question

QB online- only when I am entering bills, the screen runs off the page because of the category columns. Adjusting them isn't helping, it only makes it worse. Pls Help!

As soon as you adjust one column, another will automatically become smaller than the information (very narrow). It drives me nuts.  Please help as I use this daily and this just started a few days ago for some unknown reason.  😞

There has been a handful of posts with this same issue.  I have had the problem for almost 2 weeks now, and no one at QB can grasp what they are being told.

It IS a problem!!  But good luck getting anyone to acknowledge it.

It can be challenging, Sandy. I understand the importance of entering and customizing our bills.

To begin, may I ask for a screenshot of the issue you encountered with adjusting columns on the Bill page? This way, I can accurately determine the possible resolutions.

In the meantime, we can perform some troubleshooting steps to rule out the possibility of a browser issue. In that account, we can open your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account on an incognito window. Doing so prevents the browser history from being saved.

You can use the following keyboard shortcuts based on your browser type:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If the private browsing session works, clear the browser's cache so the system can restart. This task is also possible in other supported, up-to-date browsers. Clearing the cache will reboot the system, allowing you to work with a clean slate.

Also, if you want to make it easy to record business expenses, we can track bills and record the payments. Entering your income and expenses gives a more complete picture of your business and profit. Then, you can choose to email expense receipts and bills to QBO. The system will extract information from it and create a transaction for you to review.

Keep me posted if you have additional concerns about managing your display features in QBO. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Keep safe!

We are having this problem in our office, too. Different OS, cookies and cache cleared. Resizing doesn't stick. So far only on the expense and bill screens. Of note, doesn't seem to happen in incognito mode. Seems to size and scale to window properly in an incognito window.

It is seriously hampering productivity at a critical time.
