Quickbook Desktop Budgetting

We really need to be able to set multiple budgets for the same year, we would be fine to have one as "Primary" that all reports would default to. But we want to play with some rebudgetting and don't want to screw up the current budget in the process. What is the best way to do this? It doesn't suffice for us to set a budget up using the "Class" or the "Customer" setup, that will not get us what we need.

Good day, pc28.

My colleague, ZackE, has already answered a similar question you've posted. You can view her answer through this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/reports-and-accounting/re-multiple-budgets-for-same-year/01/1102999/highlight/true#M160649, where he explained everything you need to know about setting up budgets in QuickBooks Desktop.

If there's anything else you need help with, let me know by adding a comment. I'm more than happy to assist you. Have a great day!

Thanks CharleneMae_F, but that reply actually didn't help me one bit. Giving feedback to QBs (which is what ZackE said to do) doesn't help my issue! I still can't create 2 budgets for the same year, is there absolutely no workaround possible?

Hello @pc28,

I appreciate you for getting in touch with the QuickBooks Community about the feature you need. Allow me to provide clarification about entering budgets in QuickBooks Desktop.

I know the importance of having most of the features you need in the program. Tracking budgets and other important data is crucial for those running businesses.

I would also look for solutions or workarounds to effectively manage cash flow and other important things. However, tracking multiple budgets in a single year is unavailable in QuickBooks.

As of now, there's no workaround yet about the feature you need in our program. That's the reason why my colleague encouraged you to submit feedback.

We'll directly forward your suggestions to our product engineers. They continue working to improve QuickBooks by running program updates based on user feedback.

Also, you can visit the New Features section from the Help tab to stay up-to-date with any new features and options. Here's how:

  1. Click the Help tab at the top menu bar.
  2. Select New Features.
  3. Choose either New Feature Tour or What's New.

You can review your budgets and forecasts by running reports. For more details about the process, I've attached this article: Create a budget or forecast in QuickBooks Desktop.

Keep me posted in the Community space for any concerns you may have with creating budgets. I'll be around to help. Have a great day.
