- I need to report on a monthly basis income, but separate out how paid (check, credit card, etc), can QuickBooks do this?

Hi there, chejacques. Yes, QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) can do this. I can show the steps for running a report with the monthly basis income of every payment method in QBDT.

 

You can generate the Transaction Detail by Account report that shows all the transactions by each payment method like check, cash, credit card, etc. You can filter this report for a specific date range such as monthly.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. On the menu bar, hover your mouse over Reports. Click Accountant & Taxes.
  2. Select Transaction Detail by Account.
  3. On the top left corner of the window, click Customize Report.
  4. On the Display section, click the dropdown button for Dates. Then, select This Month-to-date.
  5. Under Total by, click Payment Method.
  6. Click the Filter section. Search for Payment method, then click the dropdown button and click Multiple payment methods.
  7. Click OK.
