I was adding expenses in some final year end clean up and when I went to review them, QBO had replicated those transactions up to 4 times. The bank register did not reflect that, but the reporting is all off.  When I called support, she was unable to figure it out after waiting 2 hours for additional tech support.. She said this is a known issue. Deleting only made it worse. We clicked a setting that said if there is a duplicate create a warn notice. did nothing.. Ideas anyone

I wish you didn't have to go through all these hurdles when working with QuickBooks Online (QBO), @-hoaadvisorygrou. I'm here to provide some troubleshooting steps to fix the issue with QBO automatically generating expense transactions and direct you to the best support to handle this immediately.

If you haven't already, I suggest reviewing your expense transactions using a private browser/ incognito mode. Private browsing prevents cookies from being stored on your computer, making it a great place to identify browser issues. Use these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Once you're in incognito mode, review your expense entries and delete them if necessary. If it works, you can go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to improve the program's performance. Otherwise, using other supported browsers can be a good alternative too.

However, I suggest contacting our Technical Support Team if the problem continues. I understand you've already reached out to them. However, it would be best to contact them again. They have the tools to look into your account and perform a screen-sharing session to do further investigation into this behavior.

Feel free to reach out to me again if you have any other concerns or follow-up questions about managing your QBO transactions. I'll be here and ready to help at any time. Have a good one!
