Quickbooks Online class tracking

I just converted my QB Desktop, which included class tracking, to QB Online Essentials, not realizing that Essentials does not allow class tracking.  I know that I can upgrade to Plus or Advanced to utilize the class tracking.  Did the class data upload when I converted, even though it was converted to Essentials, so that it will be available if I upgrade or do I need to upgrade and convert again?  Thanks for any help you can offer!

Welcome to the Community space, shawn.

I'm here to provide insight regarding your class data migration from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online Essentials.

When transferring your data from QBDT to QBO Essentials, your class data won't be transferred because QBO Essentials doesn't support class tracking.

Furthermore, it is also important to note that when upgrading from QBO Essentials to Plus, your data will not be retained and you'll need to enter it manually.

Moreover, I'm adding this helpful article as your reference in upgrading your QBO edition: Upgrade or downgrade your QuickBooks Online edition.

Please don't hesitate to return to this post if you have other concerns about migrating your data from QBDT to QBO. I'll be here to lend a hand. Have a good one!

@Shawn Watson

As I know, the class tracking won't be converted to QBO Plus or Advanced

You may have 2 options

1. Purchase a 3rd party service to convert your data with class

2. Only convert as is from QB Desktop and start to use the class feature in QBO
