How do I customize a report that shows Annual Sales of a Product/Service by Customer and to include Customer address information. I have chosen various "Sales by" reports, but cannot find one to include all of the columns I need.

Hello there, @valerieharned.

Thank you for getting back to us and asking the Community about customizing reports in QBO. I can share some more insights to achieve your goal.

You can run and customize the Sales by Product/Services Detail report. I'd be happy to walk you through the steps:

  1. Click Reports.
  2. On the search field, enter Sales by Product/Services Detail.
  3. Click the Gear icon on the upper-right side of the report.
  4. Click the Show more link.
  5. Put check marks on Product/Service, Class, Customer, Date, and Amount boxes.
  6. Click on your screen to refresh the report.

The report doesn't have a filter to add your customer's address. As a suggestion, you can run another report that shows the address:

  1. Click Reports.
  2. On the search field, enter Customer Contact List.
  3. Click the Gear icon on the upper-right side of the report.
  4. Click the Show more link.
  5. Put check marks on the Full name and Billing Address boxes.
  6. Click on your screen to refresh the report.

Then, you can combine these reports through Excel so you can have all the information in one report. Just click the Export icon.

Hi there, @valerieharned

It's nice to have you here in the Community. I can assist you with pulling up a customized report that shows Annual Sales of a Product/Service by Customer and to include Customer address information.

You can pull up a Transaction List By Customer and customize it with shipping address.

Here's how:

  1. Click on Reports at the left pane.
  2. On the search box, type in Transaction List By Customer
  3. Click on the Gear Icon beside the Export button.
  4. Under Change Columns, click on Show More.
  5. Put a check-mark on the Shipping Address box.
  6. Click on Run report.

I've attached some screenshots to visualize the steps:

That should do it, @valerieharned

Please let me know if you're referring to something else. I'm just around the corner to provide additional assistance. Have a great week ahead!

Thank you for responding.  I went through the steps you mention below, but am still missing some pieces of information. Below is the list of columns needed for the report.  We are a non-profit and need to run a donor list with their total donations for their tax letters.

Report needs to include:

Product/Service (I need to be able to choose from my list)

Class

Customer first name

Customer last name

Customer address

Date of transaction

Amount of transaction

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Your original question is very clear to me. I understand what you want.

Unfortunately, such an option to customize the report as you want is not possible in QBO. You will find most of the reports in QBO are not filterable (or customizable) as you want. It's been like that for a while.

I believe that this thread already answered my question but I'll try to ask to make sure.

I need a report that is filtered by the product/item, and shows the purchase, the customer, the customer contact info.

Basically I want a report where I can say, these customers bought this item, and I want to be able to send them an email or postcard. Is that option available?

Hello there, whizbank.

You can run the Sales by Product Detail and Customer Contact List reports, then customize them from there.

The detailed steps are provided above by my colleague @HoneyLynn_G.
