Hello all, I've uploaded my necessary journals of entry and all the values appear on the quickbook balance. However, when it reaches the Retained earnings, the quickbook balance is empty even though in the journal entry, there is a value in there. May I know what's the current issue.

Thank you

I know the possible reason why your retained earnings aren't showing up in the QuickBooks Balance, voltlink.

At the end of each year, QuickBooks Online performs a transfer known as an electronic swap to move funds to the Retained Earnings account. This transfer isn't visible on any report unless additional entries have been made to the Retained Earnings account.

The Chart of Accounts indicates no balance for the retained earnings account. Therefore, you will need to generate a report to verify. If you observe a value for the retained earnings account in the Balance Sheet report, it is the Net Income from the previous year. The system automatically zeroes out income and expenses at the beginning of next year.

If you want to see the transaction that affected retained earnings, run a Quick Report. Click "run report" on the Chart of Accounts under retained earnings.

I'll share this article to help filter specific accounts and format the layout of your data:  Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.
