How do I filter by PO number in the Sales by customer detail report in the new enhanced view? In the classic view PO is an option in the filter, it is not an option in the new view.

It's good to see you here, @ldietz. Let me share some steps for filtering Purchase Order numbers in the Sales by Customer Detail report in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To customize the Sales by Customer report and add the PO number in the new enhanced view, follow the steps below to do so:

  1. Go to Reports and choose Sales by Customer Detail report.
  2. In the Filter, click Transaction type.
  3. Select equals in the Operation
  4. Choose Purchase Order for the Value
  5. Click the +Add Filter button.
  6. In the Filter, select No., then click contains in the Operations.
  7. Enter the Value based on your PO number.
  8. Once done, hit Save

See this photo as your reference.

On the other hand, I recommend sending feedback to the specific report layout. In this way, it will enhance our product features and fit your business standards. See the attached photo for sending feedback.

I followed all those steps (tried it with multiple PO #'s all of which I know have sales) and it returns "Your selection doesn’t have any info. Change your selection or start a new search."

Thanks for getting back to us, @ldietz. Let me chime in and share some additional information about the Purchase Order number.

Purchase orders are vendor-specific transactions and will not show in the Sales by Customer Detail report in the enhanced view. You'll have to convert the purchase order to a bill, and then set this up as a billable expense to link this to sales.

On the other hand, you can run other reports, like a Transaction list by date report, to view the purchased orders or the billable expenses to keep track of these transactions on your end. You can refer to the screenshot below:

Moreover, you can memorize your reports to save the changes you made in your reports.
