Sales by Item Report filtered by "All Parts" is not displaying any inventory part

Hello all,

 

We are running this report for an item sales history so we can re-order.  I want to see all parts sold including the non-inventory parts and the inventory parts.  When I run the sales by item summary, and filter the report by setting the item filter to "all parts", it only shows me items that are set to "non-inventory".  I can set the item filter to "all inventory items" and get them to display, but I can't get one that shows all inventory and non-inventory items.  Why does quickbooks reports not consider inventory parts to be parts when it comes to the reports?

Yea the labels are sort of misleading/ vague.

"All Parts" means "All Non-inventory parts" and "All inventory items" means "All Inventory Parts".

 

There isn't a quick filter for just those two types of items.

 

However "All Sales Items" may work for you, which is all sorts of stuff you sell, excluding sales tax items, subtotals, and so on.

    All sales gives services, and we don't want that.
    Need ability to select multiple items  "All Parts" "All Inventory Items" ect.

    Selecting a subgroup should select all items under it.  IT DOES NOT

     

    Item: Parts:Net  - you only get items that don't have a subcategory

     

    The only way to do it is to select multiple items, then tick tick tick tick tick tick every single item you need.  Save it. It is a pathetic way to do it, so if you add more items, you have to modify every time check the new items.

     

    Item: Parts:Net

    check Net part 1

    check Net part 2

    check Net part 3

    check Net Part 4

    .....continue checking 300 or more items

     

    SMH

     

    Or export both to excel and combine. Then delete all the trash you didn't want, like services

     

    I wish they would spend some time making useful reports instead of adding useless lipstick and chrome with every PAID release.  I was forced to pay ransom every 3 years, now, the ransom is every year with absolutely no benefit to the typical small business user.
