Question

sales per customer with addresses

I need a report that shows the customer's name, billing address, billing city, billing state, billing zip code and total sales for a specific period.  It would be nice if the customization in the Sales summary by customer would let you add the billing information.  That would make the report ideal.

I've seen some dialogue go back and forth in this area, but I have not seen a resolution to my satisfaction.  The last posting, if I remember correctly, was dated September of 2020.  Has QBO made any strides in this area?

Please advise.  Thank you.

You can combine two reports for this, Camate60.

To achieve your goal, you can run Customer Contact List, and Sales by Customer Summary Report. Then, combine the two manually in Excel.

You can customize the Customer Contact List with the columns of customer's name, billing address, billing city, billing state, billing zip code. Then, run the Customer Summary Report for a specific period.

You'll want to export these reports to combine them in Excel manually.

That's not helpful in that we have more customers have not made any purchases versus than those that have, for any given period.  It would be a tremendously laborious effort to do as you say.  What you have provided is a work-around, not a solution.

Is this something QBO is working on?  It seems that if the option to include the billing address details is available in another report modules of QBO, that it could be integrated in other components of the report sub menu.

Please advise.  Thank you.

I appreciate your prompt reply, @Camate60.

The option to customize the Sales by Customer Summary report to have the billing column isn’t available in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This report only shows the total sales of each customer in your account.

As an alternative, you'll want to export the Customer Contact List report to Excel as suggested by my colleague MaryLurleenM above. Then, manually add a column for the total sales of a specific period from there.

Did you ever find a solution? I am in need of this exact report and it seems no one can offer a solution.

Hi there, dancer1031.

Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I recognize the importance of having the option to show the billing address, billing city, billing state, and billing zip code on the Sales by Customer Summary report. Thus, I'll ensure you can send feedback so your suggestion is forwarded to the Product Development Team.

There are dozens of reports in QuickBooks that give you a snapshot of your business and other important details. However, they have different functions that work differently. With this and as mentioned above, the said report will only tell you about the total sales for each customer as well as for each job.

For now, I suggest going to the Gear icon in QuickBooks Online. From there, you're able to choose Feedback to submit a request about adding a column to see the customer's billing information. Any recommendations are sent to our engineer for consideration in future updates.

Additionally, you can follow the details provided by my peer on how you can export the Customer Contact List to Excel or other reports. Then, manually customize the columns from there to add the information you want to view.

Lastly, you may click this article to see steps on how memorizing a report allows you to save it with its current customization settings: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.

I'm always here if you needed more help with your reports in QBO. Just let me know in the reply section below, dancer1031. Take care and have a great rest of the day!

You have got to figure this one out.  I need the addresseses to be on the reports.  I don't have time to edit multiple excel files together.  Other accounting software allows for this - I guess they are just more advanced than quickbooks.
