Hi there, Aaron.

I understand that doing our daily tasks, such as utilizing the search feature to search for customers by their address, is essential.

Sometimes, our QuickBooks Online mobile app fills too much cache, which could cause malfunctions in some features or slow down the app. We'll need to troubleshoot your QBO mobile app to ensure it runs efficiently with your phone.

Here are some quick steps to fix most app-related issues:

  1. Ensure you have a strong internet connection.
  2. Close and restart the app.
  3. Clear app data:
    • Open your device Settings.
    • Select Apps (varies by device).
    • Choose QuickBooks app from the list, then select Storage.
    • Select clear data.

If the problem persists, you can uninstall and reinstall the app to ensure everything works well.

Thanks for getting back here in the thread and providing additional details about your situation, Aaron. Let's get you through this so you can locate customers through addresses inside QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Since you've mentioned you're using the mobile app version, we recommend clearing your app's data so you can start with a clean slate and remove those temporary data in your device. When the application accumulates several pieces of data, it changes and affects your experience. We'll write down the steps to get you going:

If you're using an Android device, here's how:

  1. Ensure the device is connected to a WIFI or internet.
  2. Go to your phone's settings.
  3. Choose QuickBooks app from the list, then select Storage.
  4. Select clear data.

In case you're using iOS or iPad, here's how:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Setting General iPhone Storage and choose the QBO app.
  3. Choose Offload App. This will free up the storage without deleting your app's documents and data.

If the issue persists, you can uninstall and then reinstall the app. Also, ensure to install the latest version to take advantage of the updates.

Additionally, here's an article to help you manage invoice payments using the mobile app version of QBO: Receive an invoice payment using the QuickBooks Online mobile app.

Feel free to comment below if you need further assistance managing customers or have any additional concerns related to the program. Keep safe.

I agree - this is so frustrating!   We are in the service industry and it is more important to know the history of the address/location rather than the customer name.   Searching by name does us NO GOOD!!!!  It has to be the search by address.     If anyone found a way to search IN THE APP  please let me know.   I know you can search thru a web browser but that is cumbersome.

Same problem with app.  It is very frustrating I can only search by name more specifically first name.  It’s hard to remember 2000 first names especially when 80% of the time I used there last names. Need to get this fixed. It started last month not being able to search by address or last name.
