Setting up email receipts forwarding does not work.

Keep in mind that this email doesn’t support auto-forwarding, so you’ll need to send them directly. Be sure to forward receipts and bills from the email address you use to sign into QuickBooks.

Hi there, escanlan-strateg. 

 

At the moment, we've been receiving reports about forwarding emails for receipts. Rest assured our product engineers are working on an investigation to determine its case and formulate a permanent solution. 

 

For now, I suggest contacting our Customer Care team to get added to a list of affected users. This allows you to receive updates via email about this investigation.

 

Here's how to reach them: 

 

  1. Click the Help menu in the upper-right-hand corner.
  2. Type in "Talk to a human", then press Enter.
  3. Look for I still need a human and click on it.
  4. Click Get help from a human or Contact Support Team.
  5. Select between Send a messageSchedule an appointment, or Get a callback.

This is not an "at the moment" situation.  I have been trying for weeks to get the forwarding email set up and always get the same error.  I can't imagine this is affecting all QBO users.  QB claims to be the leading business bookkeeping software and there is a costly premium to utilize it -  It would be appreciated if a qualified technical support agent could address and correct this succinctly.

Upon checking, the investigation with regard to the error message "There was a problem creating your email. Try again later." is still open. 

 

Our engineers are all hands on deck to get a fix so you can continue forward images of your receipts and bills. 

 

On the other hand, you can reach out back to our support so they can provide further details about the status of the investigation.

 

Here's a quick guide on how to use the Receipts tab to edit and review the transactions created from your receipts and bills. 

 

Once your bills and receipts are in QuickBooks. Follow these steps to review and categorize them into the correct accounts.

I recognize the inconvenience of not being able to forward images of receipts and bills and how it impacts your experience, @smccann.


This occurrence is currently our engineers' top priority. Rest assured, a permanent fix will implemented soon.


Please know that the time it takes to fix issues varies depending on their complexity and may require extensive investigation, testing, and collaboration between different teams.


If you haven't contacted our support team yet, it's best to reach out to get your company added to the list of affected ones and stay updated on the progress. Our representatives can provide more specific information about the case and an estimated timeline for resolution.


Before that, check out our support hours so you’ll receive responses quickly. Then, follow the steps below to connect with us:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to the Help (?) menu.
  3. Select the Search tab, then click Contact Us.
  4. You can enter “An error occurred when setting up receipts forwarding” in the field.
  5. Tap Continue.
  6. Click the Chat or Callback option.


Once you manage to forward your receipts and bills, you can edit and review them using the Receipts tab. Make sure to categorize the transactions properly so they'll be posted into the right accounts.

New to QBO and have decided this was a "next step" for me to use. On 12/2/23 this is still not working. Getting all the messages that others have stated since March 2023. What the heck! When is this feature going to work?
