Question

Shouldn't the main screen with the list of all recurring payments update for a specific template Next Date field change if the start date date for that template changes?

In my case, the Next Date field is not being updated with the new start date, which is new future date.

Help has arrived, @Bob_E.

Let me share some information to help you fix this issue with the recurring templates.

Once you've set an Interval for the scheduled template, the recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) will automatically change their next date after setting the start date. Otherwise, you can refresh your page after modifying the dates to see the changes.

As another way around, perform the transactions on an incognito window. A stored browser cache can affect the performance of your QBO.

These are the keyboard shortcuts to open a private window, depending on your browser:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Shift + Ctrl + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N

If it works, you can return to your original browser and clear its cache, not the cookies, for a fresh start. You can also use another supported, up-to-date browser to narrow down the results.

If it fails to run in the future, I've got this handy resource you can read: Fix failed recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know how else I can help you with recurring transactions in QBO. I'm more here to lend a helping hand. Keep safe.

Clearing the cache seemed to work but just a refresh didn't.
