Question

Sub accounts not totaling correctly on financials

I just switched from desktop to online. In my chart of accounts, if I run a report on an account, it shows all the correct sub-accounts on it. However, when I go to my balance sheet, all of the sub-accounts are not showing up under the correct account. It will have a total and then right underneath the total it will show 2 separate sub-accounts like they are their own accounts. The sub-accounts are set up correctly in the chart of accounts and even show up as sub-accounts when I run a report from chart of accounts, so how do I get my balance sheet to show it?

It's great to have you here in the Community, @WendyKR. I understand the importance of having accurate data in your QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'm here to help you get this resolved.

Let's perform some troubleshooting. To begin, start by opening an incognito or private browser window. You can use the following keyboard shortcuts for the most popular browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Once you have opened the browser window, log in to your QuickBooks account and run a balance sheet report. If you can see the sub-accounts, proceed to clear your browser's cache. This process will remove and fix specific issues and help the program run optimally. Furthermore, you can use other devices and supported browsers to ensure everything works as expected.

If the problem persists, I recommend contacting our support team for them to investigate this matter further. They can access your account in a safe environment to look for the cause of this issue and provide a solution.

Additionally, you can refer to this article about printing, emailing, and exporting your reports: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.

Let us know if you have other concerns with your reports in the program. We'll be here to help you in any way we can.
