Syncing Gusto Payroll Expenses to Quickbooks Self-Employed (or any other version)

Hello,

 

I have an LLC, taxed as an S-Corp and run payroll for 6 employees. Last year QB told me  I needed to upgrade in order to automatically sync my Gusto payroll expenses to a category. I did, then after much trial and error QB said they don't actually do that and I would have to run payroll through them if I wanted it to be categorized correctly. I downgraded back to QB self-employed and have just labeled everything as " contract labor". My accountant wants me to find a better solution. Anyone have any work around for this? Has QB updated themselves so that Gusto and them can be integrated? Thanks in advance.

Let me share some information regarding Syncing your Gutso Payroll Expenses to QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), Nothowiwanttospendmysunday2024. 

 

In QBSE, integrating or adding your 3rd party app is unavailable. This feature can only be used in the QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). If you want to connect your Gusto app, you'll need to subscribe in QBO. For more info about the plans and pricing, you may visit this website: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/pricing/#. 

 

Before subscribing to QBO, I recommend contacting your Gusto Payroll to ensure that the Gusto app will connect your payroll to QBO.

Thank you for your response. I did upgrade last year to QBO and they did in fact, not sync with Gusto. After getting passed around (literally weeks of phone calls) and advisor figured out a work around but even then it did not actually work. I guess my question is, has this been fixed? And/Or is there any version of Quickbooks that will?

QBO relies on the data provided by Gusto. In this situation, it's advisable to reach out to their developer team for assistance with syncing information or to explore alternative solutions. You can locate their contact details in your QBO account by following these steps:

 

  1. From the left menu, go to Apps.
  2. Enter Gusto from the search box.
  3. From the app page, you can see the contact details.

 

If you want to handle payroll in QuickBooks, I suggest utilizing the QuickBooks Online Payroll bundle for comprehensive payroll processing.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to the Gear icon.
  3. Choose the Billing and Subscription under the PROFILE column.
  4. Go to the QuickBooks Payroll tab and click Learn more.

From there, choose a payroll plan and try it for 30 days free of charge and see which plan fits you.
