Question

The email with the estimate to the customer does not show the quantity of items. Apparently I can't get the quantity column to appear in the email.

Thanks for raising your concern here, @office-proavatec.

Let me help you show the Quantity Qty column in the e-mail of your estimate.

First, let's go to your Estimates Custom Form styles. Ensure that the Quantity box is ticked in the Content column. In the Emails column, the Full details should have a green dot, and the PDF Attached should have a checkmark. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. From the Your Company column, select Custom form styles.
  3. A list of customs form styles will be shown. Select the one you're utilizing for the estimate. Then, click Edit below the Action column.
  4. Choose Content. It is between Design and Emails.
  5. On the right side of the page, the style of your estimate is shown. Tap the box in the middle.
  6. An option to show in the PDF will show on the left side. Ensure that the Quantity box has a checkmark.
  7. Then, go to the Emails column. Pick Full details and tick the PDF attached. To check if the quantity column will now show, click Preview PDF.
  8. Once finished, click Done
  9. Also, to ensure that it is the default one, the name should shown like this in the list "Estimate (default)". If not, click the dropdown icon beside Edit. Select Make default.

If the issue persists, even after performing the steps. Or if you already have the same estimate setup, let's perform some basic troubleshooting steps. Let's start by logging in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account to a private browser to identify if this is a browser-related concern. This does not store cache files that may cause odd behaviors when running web-based programs. Below are the shortcut keys you can use:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Then, try to create an estimate there with the same setup and send it to your e-mail. If this works, clear the cache of your regular browser to eliminate piled-up data. If the issue persists, you can use another supported browser or device. It might be that the current one you're using has a temporary issue with the program.

Hello, this suggestion solves the problem related to the body of the email. But when I use the option to copy the estimate link, this link opens an estimate without the quantity, regardless of the estimate model I use.
