Thank you for posting your concern, @frenoplumbing

I understand the importance of the software to be able to accommodate your invoice business practices and perform the usual functions.

Currently, QuickBooks Online (QBO) is gradually rolling out new updates that include the new invoice layout for different users. Soon, QBO will make this the default invoice experience for all users and subscriptions.

There is an option for some users to revert to the old layout. Let me guide you on how.

  1. Log in as a Primary Admin user in accessing your QBO account.
  2. Go to the +New button.
  3. Select Invoice.
  4. On the top-right corner, click the Old layout button.
  5. Choose the Switch layout button.
  6. Enter or select the necessary details, then click the Leave and submit button.

Please refer to the image below.

Just a heads up, the option to revert to the old layout may not be available for some QBO users. When this happens, I suggest submitting feedback within your QBO account. This way, our product engineers will be notified of the necessary features an invoice must have in the next update.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or product suggestions.

Additionally, I'd like to ask what specific functions you want to do in creating an invoice for us to provide a workaround.

I'll add these articles here as a guide in navigating the new invoice layout experience:
