How do I print a 1099 Transaction Detail Report for 2022 that excludes bills and expenses still on the books (unpaid) at the end of the year?

Best answer by JoesemM

Hello there, @dwealand. I'll be glad to help you print the 1099 Transaction Detail Report for 2022, which excludes bills and expenses that are still unpaid for the end of the year.

The 1099 Transaction Detail Report will show all the transaction types you've created in QuickBooks. That said, excluding the bills and expenses when printing and running the report is unavailable.

While this option is unavailable, you can export the report to Microsoft Excel from QuickBooks Online as a workaround. From there, you can modify to remove the bills and expenses that are shown unpaid in your books.

  1. Go to Business Overview and select Reports.
  2. Search for and select the report you want to export.
  3. Select the Export icon at the top, then click Export to Excel.
  4. Save the file somewhere you can easily find, like your Downloads folder or desktop.

For more details, see this article: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.

Also, I'd suggest sending feedback to our product engineers. It allows them to review your suggestions and possibly include them in future updates. To send feedback, you can open this link: How do I submit feedback? You can track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

Additionally, I'll be sharing these resources that will help you create your 1099s and customize your reports in QuickBooks:

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I'm always here to answer them. Take care, and enjoy the rest of the day.

I appreciate the answer.  It was as I expected - the report shows all the bills and expenses entered in the year.  I'm guessing there isn't a report that lists any bills and expenses that are dated 2022 and remain unpaid at year end - does such a bill exist?
