Question

Trying to send invoices by email. qb is asking to verify email address.the email is correct. What else would stop the email from being sent?

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community page. I'm here to help you resolve the issue of sending invoices by email in QuickBooks Online.

 

If QuickBooks Online is asking you to verify your email address and the email is correct, there could be a few other reasons preventing the emails from being sent. These steps will help ensure all necessary settings are in place for successful email delivery:

 

  • If you recently imported QuickBooks Desktop data into a QuickBooks Online company, you may need to reset your email address:
    1. Head to the Gear icon, then select Account and settings.
    2. Go to the Company section, then choose Edit in Contact info.
    3. Review each email address and make changes as needed.
    4. Click Save, then Done.
  • Ask your customers to check their junk mail and spam folders. If the email is still not found, clear and then re-enter your email address.
    1. Head back to Account and settings.
    2. Go to the Company section, then select Edit in Contact info.
    3. Clear the Company email field and enter the desired address as is, even if it appears correct.
    4. Hit Save.
    5. Send yourself a test transaction.
    6. If you still don't receive the email, try using a different email address that has a different domain (for instance, if you were using a Gmail email address, try a Hotmail or Yahoo address instead).

 

If the problem persists, I recommend consulting an IT expert to help you with following a solution. The IT expert needs to add the QuickBooks Online mail server host names and IP addresses to your outgoing mail servers allowlist. This is so your QuickBooks emails aren't mistakenly marked as spam: Configure server to accept QuickBooks Online mail server host names and IP addresses.
