Question

Unbilled Charges

I tried running the unbilled charges report as of 12/31/23 and it is missing a whole lot of charges. What I realized is that it is showing the unbilled charges as of today. I need this report for end of year accounting purposes. The report should provide results similar to an accounts receivable balance as of a specific date and not take into account activity after the date you are looking for. Is there a way to get this as of a specific date?

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, sflynn1972.

You can run your Unbilled Charges and Transaction List by Customer reports, then export them to Excel. This will enable you to manually compare unbilled charges outside of QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. In the left navigation bar, go to Reports.
  2. Search for and choose a report you want to export.
  3. Use your Export icon, then select Export to Excel.
  4. Save the file somewhere you can easily locate it, like your Downloads or Desktop locations.

If you're missing data when opening an exported report in Excel, your file's in protected view. In Excel, you'll need to turn on Enable Editing to view the full report.

I can certainly understand how an ability to run an unbilled charges report for end of year accounting purposes could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about if as of today.
