vendor open balance report with splits

I have entered some American Express bills in QB online.  In desktop I was able to create an open balance report with all the split detail.  With online I may have several transactions entered as a bill but when I export, it gives total balance with the expense category and amount.  My balance has several transactions that are not all the same expense.  For example, if you look at 12/13 Travel expense of $2185.62: it has 14 lines of travel and auto expenses.  I need to export the split detail to excel, not just the total bill amount entered.

I can see how convenient it could be to be able to pull up a report that breaks down the associated split transactions.

 

As of now, this data is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. With that, I suggest sharing a proposal with our developer's team. Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Under PROFILE, select Feedback.
  3. Enter a few words to describe your suggestions.
  4. Click Next.

 

For now, we may run the Transaction List with Splits report and then filter it to show only the Bills. I'll guide you through the steps.

 

  1. From the Reports tab, select Reports.
  2. Enter and select Transaction List with Splits.
  3. Click Customize.
  4. Modify the Report period.
  5. Go to the Filter drop-down.
  6. Tick the Transaction Type box, then select Bill.
  7. Click Run report.
  8. Click the Export icon.

 

Furthermore, you can check this article in case you want to open the report with the same customization settings: Memorize reports.
