Want to add expense to chart of accounts for rental car

I can help you record an expense transaction for car rentals in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). However, it's best to seek help from your accountant to ensure the best course of action for your business especially when choosing the correct category. This way, we can keep your books accurate. To enter expenses in QBSE, follow these steps:
 

  1. Go to the Transactions menu and select Add Transaction.
  2. Enter the amount and a description.
  3. Click the Select a category menu and choose the best category to organize your transaction. 


     
  4. If you have a receipt, you can drag and drop it onto the form.
  5. When you’re done, hit Save.

 

Moreover, it's good to categorize transactions that have either been downloaded or manually entered to prevent losing them. This way, QuickBooks puts them on the correct line of your Schedule C.
