We are a US customer of QBO, however we also need access to our account in India when we travel. How to solve this issue?

@RJ639

If you already have a QBO US account, you should be able to access it without a VPN. For a new account, You can ask a ProAdvisor for help to signup for a QBO Global account with a dummy address or use QB Desktop US version.

Thank you all for your responses.

I was able to access our account from India without using a VPN by using this link:

Hope this helps others.

You should be able to access your QBO account anywhere in the world as long as you have a reliable internet connection and the country you are visiting is not restricted by Intuit.

This is the issue, it has been restricted to Indian customers, however we are a US customer and should have the flexibility to access our account anywhere in the world.

I understand the frustration this may have caused you, @RJ639. As a US customer, it's essential to have the flexibility to access your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account from anywhere in the world.

However, as of April 30, 2023, QBO will no longer be available in India. With the discontinuation of QuickBooks Online India, this has become a challenge.

Rest assured; I've got here some steps you can consider in letting your Indian customers access their accounts:

  1. Use VPN (Virtual Private Network): While QuickBooks Online India is no longer available, you can use a VPN to access your US account securely from any location, including India. A VPN will allow you to connect to your US-based account as if you are in the US.
  2. You can also reach QuickBooks Online customer support to discuss your specific situation. They may have additional recommendations or workarounds to help you maintain access to your account while traveling.

Additionally, given the importance of data security and adherence to local regulations when dealing with financial information across countries, I advise seeking guidance from a qualified accountant or legal expert. They can help you identify the most suitable solution for your specific requirements.

Moreover, you can check out this article to learn about the different options for user roles and access permissions: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you have further questions about accessing your account in different countries or any QuickBooks-related concerns. Keep safe.
