Hi there, info1472.

Welcome and thank you for posting here in QuickBooks Community.

Currently, we didn't receive any information from other users who use a specific Bar Code Scanning System for an inventory that is compatible with QuickBooks Online. We are unable to provide a particular Bar Code Scanning System for inventory to use. However, you can visit our Intuit apps center to search for available apps to scan your inventory. All apps that you'll see from there are compatible with QBO.

You can also visit the QuickBooks Blog website to see the most up to date information about the products’ services and features.

As always, feel free to read the topics from our QuickBooks help articles in case you need guides while working with QuickBooks in the future.

Intuit has acquired one app last year. Explore it to integrate with your QBO account.

It sounds like you're looking for a barcode scanning system that works well with QuickBooks Online (QBO) for inventory management. The main challenge is that QBO, while it has an SKU field for barcodes, doesn't natively support advanced inventory features like multiple barcodes per item or comprehensive inventory tracking across locations, and this is OK.

Why this happens: QBO focuses more on financial management than detailed inventory processes. It lacks the built-in capability to manage multiple barcodes for a single item or to track physical inventory quantities across multiple locations.

Recommended Approach:

  1. Set Up SKUs in QBO:
    • Make sure each product has its barcode entered in the SKU field. This will help QBO recognize the scanned items.
  2. Use a Middleware Solution:
    • Consider using a third-party app like Warehouse 15. This app can handle multiple barcodes per item, create barcode stickers, and sync with QBO.

Why Warehouse 15 Helps:

  • Barcode Management: Manages multiple barcodes per item, ensuring accurate scanning.
  • Mobile Device Support: Allows employees to manage inventory and orders using Android devices.
  • Real-Time Sync: Keeps QBO updated with accurate, real-time inventory and sales data.

For a more detailed solution, check out Cleverence Warehouse 15. This app can help you overcome QBO’s limitations and streamline your inventory management process.
