Question

What happens if an undefined value is imported to QuickBooks Online?

Hello,

We at Teesnap are creating an integration from our tool to QuickBooks online for our customers.  The question is what will happen if a line item has an undefined value (no assigned GL Code)?  Will all items be imported to QuickBooks and a miscellaneous GL Code be created by QuickBooks?  Or will all items be failed to import due to the undefined value?

Thank you,

Greg Blackwell

Hello there, Greg.

I understand the need for a seamless integration between Teesnap and QuickBooks Online for your customers.

If a line item with no assigned GL Code is imported into QuickBooks, it will likely fail to import. Ensure all line items have appropriate codes assigned before moving them into the program to avoid issues.

Additionally, if you're using Teesnap or a third-party application to import your data, I suggest contacting them. They can provide assistance and guidance with the integration process and advise on the best approach.

If you created an app for importing transactions, I recommend contacting Intuit Developer for specific details and information to assist in moving customer data into your app.

We have a separate discussion forum for interacting with developers and software engineers regarding product integration with our internal software. I recommend posting your question to our Intuit Developer Community page, where available resources can assist you in importing customer information and sending orders from your app to QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Intuit Developer Support website.
  2. Choose your QuickBooks product relevant to your integration.
  3. Click on Ask a Question.
  4. Sign in and follow the prompts appearing on the screen to continue.
