What settings are required to show discounts on invoice pdfs? We have discounts ON in our templates & new "modern" settings, but they don't display on invoice email pdfs.

Our pdf attachments to our QBO invoice emails previously showed discounts without any issues. The discount is calculating and displaying on all online views of the invoice, but the pdf is dropping it. We're seeing this issue occurring since we were converted to the new 'modern' invoicing process late in 2023. All settings indicate the discount should be included. Is there a defect or are we missing a setting somewhere?

You can control what's shown on invoice PDFs while customizing invoices.

 

Here's how:
 

  1. Open an existing invoice, or create a new invoice.
  2. Use the Gear icon.
  3. Towards the bottom of your Choose what you use screen that displays, click Change what your customers see.
  4. Access the Content tab.
  5. Pick your footer section.
  6. Under Display, tick the Discount option.
  7. Select Done.

 

Now your discounts will display on PDF copies of invoices.
