I understand what you feel about not being able to see past transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO), info. We hear your sentiments. Rest assured, I'll guide you with this concern in a few easy steps.

There are two ways to view all the transactions in a journal entry. You can access a chart of accounts that displays both past and current records. From there, you can select the specific bank account that you used for the transactions you wish to review.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Accounting, then Chart of Accounts.
  2. From there, choose the bank account that you used for the transaction that you need to view.
  3. Click View register.

You can also see your past transactions in Journal entry by pulling up a journal entry report. Let me show you how:

  1. In Reports, search Journal report
  2. Make sure to filter the date based on the exact date of your past transaction. You can also click the Switch to classic view and choose the date you want to pull up.
  3. Hit Save customization to have a copy of your journal entry.

Once done and you want to print a journal entry report in the future, feel free to check out the article to assist you further with the steps.

On the other hand, I know how important it is to view the journal entry simply. Since QuickBooks change the reports and entries in a new format, I suggest sending feedback to our development team. This way, they can review your concern and may consider it for future product enhancements.

Not really. I used to be able to go to journal entries under the + New button and when I opened JE, I could go to Clock thing on top left corner and hit view more, where it would pull up a list of all my Journal Entries that could see with amounts and memo showing.  Now, for the results it just shows the date and journal number with no information and you have to click each one to open to find the one that you were looking for. It is a ridiculous waste of my time and it seems to me that this is what QBO is doing now. Taking something that was simple and adding steps. I try to switch to classic when I can, but it does not stick--I have to do it every time.

The new displays in sales receipts and reports are so busy and boxy and involve way more clicks of the keyboard.
