Good day, @christine95. I'm here to share insights about 1099s in QuickBooks.
Your contractor should receive the 1099 within 7-10 business days from the date it was mailed out or postmarked. Considering that this timeframe depends on factors such as USPS service and weather conditions is important.
Please also note that 1099 forms must be e-filed on or before January 28, before 5:00 PM PT so they can be processed and mailed to contractors by January 31. This will be mailed to the addresses indicated in the contractor's profile. You'll want to make sure that addresses indicated in your 1099 forms are accurate and at the same time wait for a little while since they'll mail 1099 on the 31st.
After you file your 1099s to the IRS, we’ll notify you of your filing status through email. You can also check your filing status anytime in QuickBooks Online. Here's how:
Go to Taxes and select 1099 filings.
View the status of the e-filing under Filing status.
