The new INVOICE entry screen has ruined QBO and i'm going to cancel if you can't fix it.

how do i add the total to the upper right corner (LIKE IT USED TO BE)

how do i keep it from jumping up and down because i don't charge sales tax in other states ?

why does it open a new tab to save a PDF?  if it must, can't it open in Acrobat Pro so I can actually do something with it?

why do you offer an option to add a "payment link" on the invoice, but it doesn't work?

why.. WHY did you change it?    you've 100% ruined it, and i'm going to cancel my subscription if you can't fix it.  I have been a customer for 5 years, and i can't imagine who approved these changes.

help me REVERT to the old style... it was perfect.. the new one is horrible.  HORRIBLE.

ANYONE ELSE AGREE?

Thanks for visiting us here in the Community space, @activatecanopyI'll help you with your concerns about invoices in the new layout using QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Regarding the total, note that with the new layout update in QuickBooks, the total will now be shown in the lower right corner along with the subtotal, discount, sales tax, and deposit. This feature is part of the latest QuickBooks improvement.

About your concern about sales tax, QuickBooks now automatically calculates the total sales tax rate for each sale based on the customer's sales tax status, the location of the sale and shipment, and the sales tax product category. If you prefer not to use automated sales tax, you can turn it off and utilize custom sales tax in QBO. About the experiencing jumping issues that you mentioned, performing browser troubleshooting may help resolve any problems you are encountering. The browser's cache can become filled, causing issues with your QBO account. However, if you mean something else, specify it by commenting below.

With regards to saving a PDF, there was a previous issue with this and now it is already resolved. Since you're still experiencing the same issue, you can reach our support team to help you with this matter

Lastly, concerning adding a link to an invoice, you can utilize QuickBooks Payments to access a payment link. This will allow the link to be accessible to your customers, enabling your customers to pay their invoices online.

On the other hand, see this article as a guide once you receive your invoice payment from your customer: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online

I'm still ready to back you up if you need more help with handling new layout invoices in QBO. I'll keep the thread open so you can comment back. Take care.

i have to ask.. DO YOU USE QUICKBOOKS ONLINE?  i doubt it.

your answer didn't answer my concerns... re read my post and try again.

you added an ADD PAYMENT LINK TO PDF option.. but that is BROKEN.. it won't work on my custom template.. only the crappy default one

the TOTAL needs to be in the upper RIGHT corner.. not the lower right...   if i have an order with 50 line items... why would have to scroll to the bottom to see the total?

the screen jumps because it wants to give me an error EVERY TIME i enter a new product... ya, it wants to charge tax, but what about companies that ship nationwide... that means that 95% of my orders are OUTSIDE of my state.. so i dont have to charge tax.. That means 95% of my invoices will generate this ANNOYING  ERROR...  holy cow it's annoying?

---> you said to turn off sales tax... I TRIED, BUT IT WON'T LET ME.. i charged tax already this year, so i can't turn off tax... so I'M STUCK WITH THIS ANNOYING ERROR... did i mention it is annoying?

i invite you to look up my account and contact me...

you guys TOTALLY BROKE something that was working perfectly...

there are other options out there.. and i'm looking!

I can see that you're more familiar with and confident when using the old invoice layout. Let me look at this and dig into this deeper, Activate.

But before we start, may I know where exactly the broken payment link in the PDF option you mean? I hope you can send a screenshot so we can double-check on that. Also, with the new invoice interface, the total amount shows on the lower part to match a professional invoice arrangement which is supposed to be after the list of products and services.

On the other hand, if you don't want to be charged for a particular product, you'll have an option to uncheck the Tax column so taxes won't be calculated for a particular item. I've added a screenshot for your guide:
