Question

When I make a copy of a journal entry, the rows become scrambled and out of their original order. This is a recent problem. It used to work.

Has a setting changed?  This adds a lot of time to my day.

Let's get your journal entries working seamlessly, Bookkeeper.

Let's do some troubleshooting steps if the rows become scrambled after making a copy of the journal entry in QuickBooks Online (QBO) to determine if the issue is related to your browser.

To begin, please open an incognito window by using the following keyboard shortcuts based on the type of browser you are using:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

This will prevent your browsing history from being saved. Then, go to the QuickBooks Online (QBO) page and try to make a copy of the journal entry again to see if the rows become scrambled. If private browsing works, you can go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This will allow the system to start with a clean slate again. If private browsing doesn't work, you can use another supported web engine instead.

I'll also add this article to guide you generate and printing a report with a single journal entry or printing multiple entries in one report: Print a journal report

I'm still here to help you manage your journal entries, Bookkeeper. If you have any other questions about the rows that become scrambled after making a copy of the journal entry, feel free to add a reply below. I'll be here to address them for you.
