When we transfer our company file from Quickbooks Desktop to Quickbooks Online, do our custom fields transfer as well?

We use custom labels to store information such as serial numbers and service contract numbers in these custom field sections.

Hello there, @1258439.

I'll share information about moving data from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Custom fields will not transfer when converting from QBDT to QBO.

Here is an article you can read to learn more about the features that will and won't move to QBO: Learn how features and data move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

After the conversion, you can manually create the custom fields you need in the new version of QuickBooks. Refer to this article: Create and edit custom fields in QuickBooks Online Advanced.

For future reference, I'm adding this article about enhancing the customization of your reports: Use custom fields in reports in QuickBooks Online Advanced.

Feel free to click the Reply button below if you have questions about moving your company file from QBDT to QBO. I'm always here to help. Have a great day.
