Question

Whenever I sign in to complete my W-9 info for a contract employer, it refuses to load. It keeps saying “we’re fetching your data” and I have tried on multiple devices

Since you've already tried using different devices, we can explore other alternatives to resolve this. You can start by opening your account in a private window, also known as Incognito mode in Google Chrome. This mode doesn't record browsing activity on your local device. You can access this mode by pressing the following keys:

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

 

Alternatively, you can restart your browser and clear the browser's cache to eliminate common errors that can hinder the application from working properly. Clearing the cache will reboot the system, allowing you to work with a clean slate.

 

You can also use another supported browser other than the browser you've tried if the issue persists. This might be a temporary issue with QuickBooks and the current browser that you use.

 

If none of these fixes the problem, I encourage reaching out to our QuickBooks Self-Employed Support team. They can take a closer look at your situation and investigate this further.

 

  1. Go to Help (?) and select Contact Us.
  2. If you’re using the QuickBooks Self-Employed app, tap the + button and select Ask QB Assistant.
  3. Enter “talk to a human”, then select Continue.
  4. You can choose either to Have us call youChat with us, or Ask the Community
