I am using the desktop version of QuickBooks Enterprise 2021.

I am trying to find the average amount of money charged per sale. I only use invoices for sales. Where do I find this figure?

Hello JohnFreeman!

I can show you how to run a report with the average transaction amount.

You can pull up the Transaction List by Customer report. Then, let's export the report to an Excel file, and from there, you can edit it to get the average transaction amount.

  1. Go to the Reports menu. From the Customers & Receivables menu, select Transaction List by Customer.
  2. Click the Customize Report and set the correct Dates on the Display tab, then go to the Filters section.
  3. Search Transaction Type in the Choose Filter section and select it. From the Transaction Type drop-down, select Invoice.
  4. Tap OK.

Once done, click the Excel drop-down and select Create New Worksheet.

I also added some links you can check. These will explain more on how to get accurate data when running reports in QuickBooks Desktop:
