Why does this duplication happen?
I've got the steps you'll need to relink your bank account, @btwcsc-bookr-inc.
You may have created a new account instead of connecting it to the existing one. Once you add a new one, it will continue to show in your Chart of Accounts list even after disconnecting it. Not to worry, you can delete it from the list.
Here's how:
- Go to the Accounting menu and select Chart of Accounts.
- Find the duplicate account.
- Click the dropdown arrow under the Action column and choose Make inactive.
To reconnect your bank to the existing one, follow these steps:
- Select Banking or Transactions.
- Select the Banking tab.
- Select Add account or Link account if you've already created one.
- In the search field, search for your bank, credit card, or credit union.
- Select Continue. Then sign in to your bank by entering your banking username and password.
- Follow the onscreen steps, including any additional security checks your bank might require. It may take a few minutes to connect.
- Select any accounts you want to connect like your savings, checking, or credit card. Then select the account type ▼dropdown and choose the matching account type from your chart of accounts in QuickBooks.
- Select how far back you want to download transactions. Some banks let you download the last 90 days of transactions. Others can go back as far as 24 months.
- Select Connect.
Once done, it will automatically download transactions. You can review and categorize downloaded them.
I'm always here if you need help with classifying your entries. It's my pleasure to help. Have a great day.
